ABOUT SCR

South Central Ride (SCR) is a station-based electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing service designed to improve access to sustainable transportation. The project is Managed by People for Mobility Justice (PMJ) in collaboration with Mobility Development (MDO) as part of the South LA Eco Lab.

The service provides affordable, community-focused EV options aimed at reducing transportation barriers and promoting sustainable mobility in South Los Angeles.

To be a registered user of the carshare program, community members must sign up and register via the MDO Carshare app. It is available to download via the app store for apple and android phones. Click on the button bellow to get started.

PROGRAM DETAILS

The app will guide users through the required steps to register for the program, such as including their personal information, a picture of their valid driver’s license, and a valid payment method i.e. credit, debit, or a prepaid card. As part of the registration process, there will be a $20 fee charged to run the background check of the person signing up for the program. Community members that live in the South LA Eco-Lab project area will have the $20 fee waived. Everyone else will be charged the fee. 

After registering via the MDO carshare app, an MDO representative will follow up to confirm the registration and have the person watch an orientation and assessment video. This video orientation covers important topics such as pricing, member support, electric vehicles, reservations, pick up and drop off zones, charging, canceling reservations, member responsibilities, and fees and policies.

Hourly Rate (1 hour minimum)
$6.50 + tax
(100 miles free then $0.40/mile + tax)

Daily Rate
$52 + tax
(150 miles free then $0.40/mile + tax)
